Lenovo, in the interest of good customer service, is now offering a downgrade
path to buyers of systems with Windows Vista.

Setting advocacy aside for a moment (*ahem*), you have to wonder whether
these software giants really have our best interests as heart when they
shove the upgrades at us to line their pockets. I find XP very
workable, and I am not impressed with Vista at all. Likewise, I see
nothing in Leopard that makes me rush out and switch from Tiger. I
realize no one *has* to buy an upgrade, but eventually you do when you
buy a new computer.

The new Office is a good example. There is nothing wrong with the .doc
format that I can see. Now you have to "export" instead of saving, so
that a person with an older version can open it. Or, they have do run a
clumsy converter, just to wind up with an .rtf. It's all about the
money, IMO.
